Law Practice Experience:   Robert Vaage has an extensive background as a medical malpractice trial lawyer in California. After law school, he originally worked for a small litigation defense firm in Sacramento before returning to San Diego to join the firm of Rhoades, Hollywood & Neil, where he prepared major cases in a variety of personal injury litigation.  In 1986, Robert Vaage was asked to join the law firm of Daniel Broderick. It was there that Mr. Vaage developed his expertise as a trial lawyer specializing in medical malpractice. Since then, his practice has expanded to include personal injury, employment/discrimination law, HMO, nursing home and elder abuse law, product liability, insurance bad faith and cases involving child injuries.  Robert Vaage’s practice as a skilled trial lawyer in California includes the development and supervision of every aspect of the case. Mr. Vaage utilizes the latest in research and trial preparation technology and has tried numerous cases before judges, juries and arbitration panels.

Robert Vaage received an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a nationwide legal publication. The AV rating is the highest rating available to a lawyer, and it is a rating that is achieved by only a select group of lawyers. For San Diego lawyers, it is based upon a confidential survey of local attorneys and judges.

Other Experience: Robert Vaage has acted as a party arbitrator in Kaiser and medical malpractice arbitrations since 1989. He has also been retained as an expert for both the plaintiff and defendant in legal malpractice cases involving an underlying medical malpractice lawsuit.
