San Diego Child Safety Alert: Pacifier Recalled Due to Choking Hazard
As San Diego product liability attorneys, we are well aware of the dangers posed by defective products, particularly to small children. However, in many cases, safety alerts don’t reach parents in time.
This week we want to share an important safety recall involving pacifiers that could pose a choking hazard.
The recall involves more that 119,000 CareBear Pacifiers imported by IDM Group LLC, of New York. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the pacifiers fail to meet federal safety standards. The nipples can separate from the base, posing a choking hazard to young children.
The defective pacifiers feature the cartoon CareBear characters and were sold at various discount and dollar stores nationwide from October 2009 through June 2012 for about $1.
Consumers are advised to immediately take the recalled pacifiers away from infants and contact IDM Group LLC for instructions on returning the product for a full refund.
